Ministries District

For the challenging water feature projects within the Ministries District, Target Engineering selected a robust solution: hot-applied polyurea. This involved the comprehensive waterproofing and protection of features like fountains and artificial ponds. In these applications, we utilized Krypton Chemical polyurea, a material known for its rapid curing, flexibility, and exceptional resistance to water, chemicals, and environmental stressors. The spray application of this seamless membrane ensured the elimination of joints and leaks, resulting in long-lasting structural integrity and protection.

Project Description:

Water Features Using Hot-Applied Polyurea

Overview:
Target Engineering utilized hot-applied polyurea to waterproof and protect water features (e.g., fountains, artificial ponds) in the Ministries District.

Key Features:

  • Material: Polyurea, a fast-curing, flexible polymer with exceptional waterproofing and abrasion resistance.
  • Application: Spray-applied as a seamless membrane to eliminate joints and leaks.
  • Benefits:
    • Resists UV degradation, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
    • Ideal for dynamic water features due to its elasticity and tear resistance.
    • Long-lasting protection against water ingress and structural damage.

Water Features and Podiums Using Hot-Applied Polyurethane

Overview:
Target Engineering applied hot-applied polyurethane to waterproof podiums and water features, combining structural reinforcement with aesthetic finishes.

Key Features:

  • Material: Polyurethane, a versatile polymer offering a balance of flexibility and rigidity.
  • Application: Spray-applied for seamless coverage on complex geometries (e.g., podium edges, curved water features).
  • Benefits:
    • Superior adhesion to concrete, steel, and masonry.
    • Thermal stability for environments with temperature fluctuations.
    • Enhances load-bearing capacity of podiums while maintaining waterproof integrity.
